PRESQUE ISLE — The Domestic Violence Awareness Month Committee at the Hope and Justice Project is currently seeking businesses and groups to sponsor fall events for $100 by Aug. 15.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Hope and Justice Project will host educational events in Houlton, Presque Isle, Caribou, Fort Kent and Madawaska throughout September and October.

“We are fundraising ahead of time, because the expenses add up and we want our awareness events to continue to be free to the public,” said Leslie Gervais of New Limerick, an educator at Hope and Justice Project. “We are so thankful for the businesses and groups who support us every year and make it all possible.”

September events will include live music in Bicentennial Park in Madawaska and sidewalk chalk activities with local students in Fort Kent. In October, Hope and Justice Project will host awareness walks in Houlton and Presque Isle and a lip sync contest in Caribou.

Sponsorship checks can be made out and sent to: Hope and Justice Project, PO Box 148, Presque Isle, ME 04769, for: DVAM. For more details, visit www.hopeandjusticeproject.org.
