Farmstand to open Aug. 10

NEW SWEDEN — After a successful first season in 2015, the Northstar Variety store in New Sweden will host a low-cost farmstand again this year. Farmstand visitors can buy produce using either cash or EBT.

The farmstand will be open from 2-6 p.m. on Wednesdays on the following dates: Aug. 10, 17, 24 and 31 and Sept. 7 and 14.

This year, it will feature produce that the Good Shepherd Food Bank purchases at a fair price, primarily from Rankin Rapids in St. Francis. Low-cost sales are made possible through support from the Mainers Feeding Mainers program.

Northstar Variety is located at 204 New Sweden Road in New Sweden.
