Junior Achievement golf tourney set Aug. 13, 2016
PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The Junior Achievement Aroostook Charity Golf Event is slated for Aug. 13 at Presque Isle Country Club.
Formerly known as the KeyBank Charity Golf Event, prizes include cash for the winning teams in the men’s, women’s and mixed divisions for low gross and net scores. There will also be prizes for closest to the pin on the par 3s, as well as a long drive and a putting contest.
A new car will be offered as a hole-in-one prize and all golfers will be entered into a drawing for a heat pump valued at over $4,000.
Net proceeds will fund Junior Achievement programs in Aroostook County. The program works to educate and inspire Maine youth to value free enterprise, business and economics. Classes are provided to local schools at no charge and annually, over 600 students in Aroostook participate.
A barbecue lunch for all participants is being provided. The shotgun start is at 9 a.m., with registration underway at 8 a.m. There is no minimum handicap for the three-person teams. Entry fee is $135 per team.
