NEW SWEDEN: The New Sweden Historical Society Museum is open Monday through Friday, 12-4 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 1-4 p.m.

Saturday, Aug. 6

CARIBOU: Annual chicken barbecue with special sauce at Gray Memorial Methodist Church, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Picnic under the canopy at the church or take out.

CARIBOU: “Grandma’s Kitchen” display at Caribou Historical Center and Museum, Saturdays 12-4 p.m. through August. All are welcome to investigate and enjoy.

Sunday, Aug. 7

WASHBURN: Annual Tea and Quilt Show, hosted by Salmon Brook Historical Society, at the museum. Proceeds benefit Wilder and Aroostook Agricultural museums. Tickets: $10 in advance. Three tea times: 12:30, 1:45 and 3 p.m.

Monday, Aug. 8

CARIBOU: Veterans Administration town hall meeting, Chan Center, Cary Medical Center, 6 p.m. Ryan Lilly of Togus will give update on vets’ health issues. A VA benefits specialist will be available. FMI, call Cary Public Relations at 498-1112.

Tuesday, Aug. 9

CARIBOU: A Family for Me (DHHS staff) will hold an information meeting at 30 Skyway Drive at 6 p.m.
