PENDEXTER, Elwood E., 73, Easton, at Caribou, July 23, 2016. There will be no calling hours or funeral.
EASTON – Elwood E. Pendexter, 73, died July 23, 2016, at the Maine Veterans Home in Caribou. He was born April 19, 1943, in Chapman, the son of Judd and Crystal (McPherson) Pendexter. He graduated from Presque Isle High School and joined the army and served a tour on the DMZ in Korea.
He attended the original Maysville School on the Caribou Road in 1948/49. He had a BA in Humanities from the University of Maine at Presque Isle.
He loved going fishing and camping with his family. He worked for Potato Service and McCains for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley, of 47 years of Easton; a son, Shane of Easton; a son, Jeffrey and his wife, Nicole of Auburn and grandson, Andrew of Auburn; one brother, Wayne Pendexter of Easton; sisters, Gail Hodshon of Wesserly, RI, Geraldine Beckwith of Crouseville and Cheryl Miller of Presque Isle. He had many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents; and two brothers, Gary and Ernest.
