HOULTON & EAST MILLINOCKET — Russell F. Taylor 87, left peacefully to be with his Lord Jesus, on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at his residence. He was born Sept. 13, 1928 in Ludlow, the son of Frederick and Daisy (Hall) Taylor.
Following high school, Russell served in the United States Marine Corps. He graduated from the University of Maine in 1952 with a degree in mechanical engineering and worked at the Great Northern Company from 1952 until 1987, when he retired as Plant Engineer. Russell enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and gardening. He and Joyce enjoyed watching the Red Sox, Patriots and golf. Russell will always be remembered in our hearts and thoughts as a loving husband, dad, brother and a friend. His love, guidance and generosity always warmed the family’s heart. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
Russell is survived by his three children Leslie Powers of Millinocket, Rusty Taylor and his wife Annie of Houlton, Joleen Taylor of Short Pump, Virginia; the mother of his children Charlene Taylor of East Milli-nocket; three grandchildren Samera Spear and her husband Leigh, Kaitlyn Osborne and her husband Jay, Ky Theriault and his wife Jaimie; two great-grandchildren Emma Spear and Liam Theriault; three sisters Arlean Mooradian, Barbara Fitzpatrick, Betty Harvey and her husband Asa; his sisters-in-law Della Taylor and Polly Taylor; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, his son James Taylor, his second wife Joyce “Tess” Taylor, two brothers Holland and Freeman.
Graveside service with Military Honors was held in Evergreen Cemetery Saturday, July 30, 2016 with Rev. Randall Burns officiating.
