O’CONNELL, Verna (Grivois), 74, Presque Isle and Belfast, at Belfast, July 22, 2016. At Verna’s request, there will be no service. Donations may be made in her memory to the ALS Association.
PRESQUE ISLE & BELFAST – Verna (Grivois) O’Connell, 74, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2016, at Tall Pines Nursing Home, Belfast, after a long courageous battle with ALS. She was born in Grand Isle, on August 21, 1941, to the late Joseph O’Neil Grivois and Albertine (Cyr) Grivois. Verna enjoyed being near the ocean, going to camp, picking wild flowers and making the most amazing bouquet’s.
She was predeceased by her parents; brother, Gary Grivois; and sister, Joan Grivois. She is survived by sisters, Jean Crotto of Palm Coast, FL, Nita Therriault, of Presque Isle, Sharon Swiek, of Winthrop, ME, Tina Grivois, of Winterport, ME; brother, Nelson Grivois of Stafford Springs, Conn.; daughters, Karen Dennison, of Fresno, Calif., Tammy and husband, Ahmad Jumah; grandchildren, Rod Jumah, Leena and husband, Sam Hatamleh, Reema and husband, Shadi Khatib; great-grandchildren Yosef, Sanad and Talal, all of Amman, Jordan. She so loved her family dearly.
