PATTEN — Vivian D. Brownlee, 66, passed away July 31, 2016, at a Bangor hospital with her family by her side. She was born in Stacyville on August 26, 1949, the daughter of Orrie (Bunny) and Clara Hunt.
Our beloved friend, wife, mother and Nana devoted her life to taking care of her family, and for that we are forever grateful! Her talents were many, including cooking, knitting, decorating cakes, among many others. She could shop till she dropped and lay a patch of rubber like you’ve never seen before. She also loved the color purple. She enjoyed decorating for every holiday and took pride in making sure her home looked nice. She could do anything she set her mind to. At age 40 years young, with the help of her husband, she fulfilled her lifelong dream of becoming a cosmetologist, all while taking care of her family. She was a prayer warrior. Through all her life’s pains and struggles she held strong to her faith and God’s promises. In her later years nothing gave her more pleasure than spoiling her grandbabies. She was the best Nana anyone could ask for. They were her “sunshine” and she was their everything.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Fred Brownlee of Patten; son Robert and significant other Linda Shaw of Patten; daughter Lisa and husband Thomas Craig of Patten; grandchildren Hunter, Walker, and Melanie of Patten; step-mother Mary Hunt of Dexter; brothers Errol and Carl Hunt of Stacyville; nieces Peggy Hanson and daughter Kayla of Winslow and Amy Chaplin and daughter Tessa of Farmingdale; very special aunt Maxine Brackett and husband Richard of Patten; dear friend Beth Carver and husband Dana of Mt. Chase.
Mom, thank you for decorating our world and being a “silent” caring person to others. “The unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit is of great worth in God’s sight” 1 Peter 3:4. A special thank you to Pastor Frank Randall and his wife Tammy for all they have done to help the family through this time.
As she requested, there will be no services. Donations may be made in her memory to Patten Pentecostal Church, 101 Main St., Patten, ME 04765. Arrangements by Cremation Basics, Bangor.
