PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Maine Friends of the U.S. Constitution will host presentations in Houlton and Presque Isle on why members feel the United States should get out of the United Nations, and what people can do to make that happen.
The Presque Isle session will be held Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016 at 9 a.m. at Governor’s Restaurant. Admission is free; donations will be accepted. Those attending may order from the menu.
The Houlton meeting will be Friday, Aug. 26, at Tang’s Chinese Restaurant at 7 p.m.
Local Maine Friends contact Bob Roy said, “We want to bring people’s attention to the U.N. and to HR 1205. The goal is to get more folks to understand the issue and to encourage their elected representatives to vote to leave the U.N.”
Hal Shurtleff of Boston, co-founder and director of the all-volunteer summer camp Camp Constitution in New Hampshire, will lead the sessions, which will center on HR 1205, the American Sovereignty Restoration Act.
Shurtleff also participates in a radio show on WBCQ in Monticello on Mondays at 7:30 p.m.
