NARFE plans annual picnic
VAN BUREN: The National Active and Retired Federal Employees of Aroostook County (NARFE), will hold their annual picnic at the American Legion in Van Buren on Thursday, Aug. 25.
The meal will begin at 11:30. All active or retired federal employees throughout Aroostook County are welcome.

Farmstand now in operation
NEW SWEDEN — After a successful first season in 2015, the Northstar Variety store in New Sweden continues to host a low-cost farmstand. The farmstand is open from 2-6 p.m. each Wednesday through Sept. 14.
It will feature produce that the Good Shepherd Food Bank purchases at a fair price, Low-cost sales are made possible through support from the Mainers Feeding Mainers program.
Northstar Variety is located at 204 New Sweden Road.
