HOULTON — Deborah “Debbie” Mae Polchies, 49, passed away Monday, August 15, 2016 at a Presque Isle hospital with her family by her side. She was born August 26, 1966 at Houlton, the daughter of Valentine and Rose (Silliboy) Polchies.
Debbie grew up in Houlton and attended local schools. She raised her family and worked for area farms. Debbie enjoyed doing crafts and coloring. She loved playing dice and claims she didn’t cheat but was just playing by “house rules.” Debbie was very handy and could fix just about anything. She was a free spirited, fun loving person with a huge loving, caring heart but she could be stubborn at times. She loved the name “Little Debbie” because she was sweet like a “Little Debbie” snack.
Debbie is survived by her children, Jennifer Cabanaw, Melissa Beal, Josh Beal Samantha Polchies and Tiffany Levesque all of Houlton; fourteen grandchildren; her siblings, Marie Polchies, Valentine “Sam” Polchies, Mary Sabattis and Jean Lorom all of Houlton; her dog Itty Bitty; lifelong best friend Dale Donahue, and her longtime boyfriend, Ned Ketchum; many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, her brother James and her sister Carol.
Friends may call at the Dunn Funeral Home, noon, Thursday, August 18, 2016 until the time of the service 1 p.m. with Rev. David Raymond officiating. Following the service there will be a reception held at the Maliseet Gymnasium. Interment will be in the Maliseet Overlook Tribal Cemetery at a later date.
