LIMESTONE & FORT FAIRFIELD – Ernest L. Cote, 92, passed away Sunday evening, August 21, 2016 at a Saco healthcare facility, following a brief illness.

He was born June 7, 1924 in Limestone, the son of Alfred and Eva (Theriault) Cote. He attended Limestone schools and owned and operated Cote’s Market in Limestone for many years. He later became engaged in potato farming in Fort Fairfield for a number of years. Ernest was also a communicant of the Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Louis Catholic Church, Limestone.
In addition to her parents, Ernest was predeceased by nine brothers, Wilfred, Reuben, Charles, Beacher, Chester, Cecil, Levi, Alfred and Kenneth Cote; three sisters, Sadie Jandreau, Gladys Sirois and Vera Hurnden. He is survived by three sons, Gregory Cote of Kealakekua, Hawaii, Brian Cote of San Jose, CA, Rick Cote and his wife Terry of Scarborough; two daughters, Sandra Murray and her husband Tom of San Clemente, CA, Candace Gallagher and her husband David of Grove City, PA; six grandchildren; thirteen great- grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted later this fall at the St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, Limestone at a date and time to be announced.
