The 28th annual Rene Cloukey Charity Challenge Golf Tournament was held at the Limestone Country Club on July 23 and 24, 2016 at Long Lake Country Club. All funds raised over the past 28 years has gone to Special Olympics of Aroostook. This year, a donation was made in the amount of $3,900. Organizers reported that this was one of the more successful contribution years and the popularity of the event reaches beyond Aroostook County.
Cloukey was presented with a legislative sentiment sponsored by Rep. Lester Ordway of Standish and co-sponsored by local representatives Bob Saucier, A.J. Edgecomb and Sen. Michael Willette.
