FORT KENT, Maine — The University of Maine at Fort Kent Alumni Association will honor three individuals who have made an impact on the campus community and society at its annual Alumni and Friends Banquet, to be held this year on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016 in Nowland Hall.
Dana A. Saucier Sr., a 1968 graduate of UMFK, will be presented with the 2016 Outstanding Alumni Award; Kim Parent, a 2002 graduate, will be presented with the Outstanding Young Alumni Award; and Frantzceau Germain, who will graduate in May 2017, will be presented with the Outstanding Future Alumni Award.
Saucier, who lives in Eagle Lake, will be honored for his highly impressive professional achievements in the wood products industry. He has implemented changes within the University of Maine at Fort Kent Board of Visitors and continues to advocate for the betterment of higher education within the state of Maine and the university. The Alumni Association has chosen to recognize him for his many contributions to his community and the lives of others.
Parent’s honor as the Outstanding Young Alumni is based upon her exceptional and multifaceted community contributions, leadership, and the impressive level of professional and individual achievements she has accomplished at such a young age. She resides in Caribou.
Germain will be awarded based upon his impressive humanitarian service as the Outstanding Future Alumni. His impact on the global community is a significant achievement that brings honor to the University.
In addition to the awards, the following classes also will be recognized 1936, 1946, 1956, 1976, 1986, 1996 and 2006.
