HOULTON, Maine — The Aroostook County 4-H program will offer free VOLT (Volunteer Ongoing Learning and Training) sessions for all adults 18 and over who would like to become a volunteer or leader.

The local session is planned Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016 at the Houlton Cooperative Extension Office at 6 p.m.

4-H volunteers who spend more than eight contact hours a year with 4-H members or are listed as a club or assistant leader are required to become enrolled and certified through the VOLT program.

Candidates must complete a three-step volunteer certification process, which includes an application process, VOLT training online and in person, and enrollment.
