LITTLETON, Maine — All are invited to come celebrate rural living in The County with the Southern Aroostook Soil & Water Conservation District and the University of Maine Cooperative Extension as they host the second annual Rural Living Day on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2016 at the Agricultural Museum in Littleton.
The event will run from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. and will incorporate a variety of agricultural-related workshops, from growing mushrooms in logs to backyard maple syrup production, growing garlic to baking artisan bread, and much more throughout the day.
Local artisan crafters will feature demonstrations and product sales. There willbe youth activities and games, herding dog demonstrations and a small livestock area.
A $10 harvest lunch will be available by the Vault Restaurant.
The cost of admission is $5 per person or $20 for a family of four or more; children 10 and under are free. Families arriving by 10:30 will be entered in a drawing for a chance to win one of five free admissions, sponsored by John Harvell State Farm Insurance.
