“With the increasing costs and importance of a college education, we want to do our part to help deserving local students achieve their dreams,” explained John Swanberg, AS&L president. “We are proud to grant these scholarships and it’s just one way of showing our appreciation to our customers for their loyalty throughout the years, and to thank them for their continued support of our association.”
The scholarship program awards County students who have exemplified community service through their volunteer efforts, been successful academically, and have a financial need. So far, the program has awarded $137,000 in scholarships since its inception in 1999.
