CARIBOU — Thelma M. Cochran, 96, passed away September 3, 2016, at Caribou.
She was born in Caribou, August 24, 1920, the daughter of the late Sherman and Nellie (Bubar) Doody. Mrs. Cochran enjoyed volunteering in the community, especially at the Bread of Life Soup Kitchen and was a recipient of the Roger Maris volunteer award. She also loved to play bingo and very much enjoyed going on bus trips around the country to see the beautiful sights. Mrs. Cochran was a member of the Caribou United Baptist Church in Caribou.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Bernard “Bunny” and Theresa Stubbs, two daughters and a son-in-law, Barbara Loggans and husband Donald and Shirley Fortin, a daughter-in-law, Betty Stubbs all of Caribou, and a sister-in-law, Irene Wheaton of Portland, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren , nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Lothrop Stubbs, and her second husband, Richard Cochran; a son, George Stubbs; and her siblings.
Friends visited with the family Tuesday, September 6, 2016, at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou from 2 p.m. until time of services which were held at 3 p.m. from the chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Troy Heald officiating.
