VFW will relocate
PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Presque Isle’s Hayward-Frazier Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2599 is set to close at its State Road location later this month, with the hopes of reopening elsewhere.
Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016 will be the VFW Post’s last day in operation, the organization announced on Facebook.
“We are closing down operation of our facility,” the announcement read. “We are currently in negotiation on obtaining another facility and will release more information when it becomes available.”
The post continued: “However we would like to thank all the bands that played at our facility for the last 20 years, your time and devotion is and was so greatly appreciated. To all the people who came to our facility we deeply thank each and everyone of you for your patronage. We will continue to administer the many programs that the VFW has to offer, more information will be released at a later time.”
The VFW noted that it has two more music and dance events scheduled, one Saturday, Sept. 17, with the Triple Play Band, and Saturday, Sept. 24, with the Reckless Country Rock Band.
