Northern Maine Community College recently held a free-tuition raffle. Winner Isaac deMontigny of Frenchville thanks Mary Crowley, who purchased the winning raffle ticket.

The organization will retain the rest of the proceeds from the raffle, which began in the spring, in order to fund their own activities which support the college.

DeMontigny is the third member of his family to attend NMCC. The ticket purchaser was Dream Vacations — A CruiseOne Company. Mary Crowley, vacation specialist with the company and the wife of NMCC President Tim Crowley, chose Isaac to be the recipient of the tuition.

“I was thrilled my ticket was chosen and honored to be able to designate Isaac as the winner,” said Crowley. “Like Isaac, I am from the St. John Valley, and it’s obvious his family prioritizes a high-quality education. I’m happy this gift will ease the financial burden as he completes his NMCC degree.”

“I’m really grateful that Mrs. Crowley would support students through this raffle and can’t get over that I’m the one to benefit,” said deMontigny.

A second prize was drawn for a $250 gift certificate to the NMCC College Store. Anthony Desjardins, a senior Electrical Construction & Maintenance student from Fort Kent, was the prize winner.
