Third-graders take field trips
Grade three from Easton Elementary School went to visit our local pond this fall where Mr. Lawrence Berz from the Francis Malcolm Science Center worked with the students to study the pond and learn about some of the living organisms that can be found there. Students found many insects, tadpoles and fish as they explored the pond habitat. A special thank you to Lori McQuade and Nicole King, who helped with this field trip.
For the second field trip this year, students were able to go to the Francis Malcolm Science Center to make apple cider. This is always a favorite with the class. Students compared five different kinds of apples then worked with Berz to learn about the parts of the cider press and make their own cider. As always, it tasted great!
