It has been a memorable season for boys soccer squads thus far as teams hit the midway point to the season.
The Hodgdon boys soccer team improved to 6-0 on the season Monday following a win over Southern Aroostook.
The Hawks are currently the fifth seed in the Class D North region, behind Fort Fairfield (8-0), Ashland (3-2-2), Central Aroostook (7-2) and Easton (7-3-1). Those teams have all played more games than Hodgdon because they start earlier in the season, due to harvest recess.
Southern Aroostook (3-3) is ninth in Class D North, while East Grand (3-2) is 10th and Katahdin (0-6) is 20th.
Houlton (4-1) fell for the first time Saturday with a tough loss to top-ranked Orono. The Shires are currently third in the Class C North region behind Orono (5-0) and No. 2 Fort Kent (4-2). Houlton and Fort Kent meet for the first time this Thursday.
