Another side of Islam
To the editor:
You may think that this is not local news, but this event has affected me and others locally indirectly and significantly. If this information were to go viral by any means, it could begin the transformation of Islam as well into a loving, creative, beloved force in the world.
It’s about a man who claims to be the reincarnation of Mohammad and other avatars. Well over 1,000 books have been written about him. And new books are rolling out steadily. A detailed examination of his major books, life and work can be made at www.sheriarbooks.org or www.belovedarchives.org .
His primary claim is that he will unite all religions “like beads on a string” by “reorienting and revitalizing” them. If so, he will have to do it with reprints of his book, “God Speaks” (describing the necessary illusion of evolution and human involution and the path to God-self realization), because he died in 1969 at the age of 75 without so uniting.
He was born Merwan Irani in India in 1894 of an Iranian father. His disciples renamed him Meher Baba, which means Compassionate Father. I have examined his books and life thoroughly over the past 45 years, and I believe he is our only hope of transforming Islam into a loving, creative, beloved force in the world. But the question that obsesses his so-called “Baba-lovers” around the world is, how will his message to Islam override Islam’s censors?
