CAHS pep band looking for members

MARS HILL NEWS
By Tomi Henderson

The Central Aroostook High School Pep Band is in need of members. Band Director Adam Metzler would love to have community members and alumni from the school volunteer some of their time at home basketball games to help play music. Instruments are available for those who no longer have access to one.

Those who would like to participate should contact Metzler by calling 425-2811 or by emailing him directly at ametzler@sad42.us.

School prayer event set for this morning

Even though school is out for harvest break, area pastors are inviting others to join them at Central Aroostook High School on Wednesday, Sept. 28 at 11 a.m. to pray for our schools and our nation.

Rotary Club

The Mars Hill Rotary Club met Sept. 20 at the Aroostook Health Center and Rotarian Steve Hitchcock shared a slideshow of pictures he has taken during Rotary meetings over the past few years. Some pictures are flattering and some not so much, they were enjoyed by all. Funny that there weren’t any pictures of Steve.

Library auction

The Walter T. A. Hansen Memorial Library is beginning to gather items for the annual Bidding For Good on-line auction to be held early next year. This is typically the library’s largest fundraiser and allows it to add to its collection.
Those with items to donate to the auction can contact the library at 429-9625. Thank you to all who help with this fundraiser.

Bingo

The William Cousins Post 118 of Mars Hill is hosting Bingo on Saturday evening beginning at 7 p.m. at the Post. There are cash prizes. Refreshments are available. Come on out and enjoy a fun evening with friends!
