Beaver second at XC meet
HOULTON, Maine — The Washburn boys ended up as runners-up in the Aroostook League for middle school cross country. The championship race took place last Wednesday afternoon and the event was held on a two-mile course.
The Beaver girls’ squad ended up in third place out of five teams. Presque Isle was fourth in the girls’ standings and fifth in the boys’ results.
Annalise Jandreau of Caribou won the girls’ race in 14:40.8, while Jeremy Stone of Greater Houlton Christian Academy captured the boys’ title with a 13:13.5 clocking. Forty five boys and 60 girls competed.
The complete boys’ team scores were: 1, GHCA, 18; 2, Washburn, 41; 3, Caribou, 67; 4, Union 122, 94; and 5, Presque Isle, 139.
