HOULTON, Maine — Greater Houlton Christian Academy ran away with the boys and girls middle school cross country championships Wednesday afternoon with dominating performances on the trails.
The GHCA boys easily outdistanced Washburn for the boys’ crown, as the Eagles had the top three runners in the meet. On the girls’ side, the Eagles overcame a large squad from Caribou to win the title.
Eagle Jeremy Stone was the top boy runner, completing the two-mile course in 13 minutes, 13.5 seconds. Caribou’s Annalise Jandreau was the top female runner at 14:40.8.
How dominant were the GHCA runners? Four of the top five finishers for the boys were from GHCA, while three of the top five girls were Eagles.
