After evaluating the positive responses from the Community Library Survey, the Easton school libraries will open their doors to Easton residents for a trial period between Oct. 12 and Dec. 21 on Wednesdays after school and Saturday mornings.
On Wednesdays, the community library locations will alternate between both libraries. On Saturdays, the community library will be held at the Easton High School library and will feature a story time from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., geared toward toddlers/pre-K to grade 3. Children under 5 need to be accompanied by an adult. The Story Time will include a picture book with an activity/color page to follow. More program activities may also be offered for other age groups. Look for community story time notices and sign up forms. Please return completed notices to main office or signup in the office.
The library will be open to the community for patrons to utilize library services, book loans, use of periodicals and reference materials, Internet and computer access. Patrons may bring their own devices to access the Internet and will be asked to follow existing library rules and guidelines.
Library patrons are asked to watch for announcements about parking and which door to access after school hours on Wednesdays. Use the back door near the library at Easton Junior-Senior High School on Saturdays.
The community library will be offered Wednesdays from 3-5:30 p.m. The tentative schedule through Dec. 21 is as follows: Oct. 12 (high school), Oct. 19 (elementary school), Oct. 26 (high school), Nov. 2 (elementary school), Nov 9 (high school), Nov. 16 (elementary school), Nov. 30 (high school), Dec. 7 (elementary school), Dec. 14 (high school) and Dec. 21 (elementary school).
