Gypsy lives up to her name

To the editor:

This is a story about a cat named Gypsy that lives in Ludlow.

On May 19, 2016, Gypsy went outdoors and disappeared. We didn’t know what had happened to her. Every day we called for her, but couldn’t find her anywhere. We kept looking and calling her name, “Gypsy.” No show.

I have a motion detection sensor, one part outside and one part inside, that I set every night. When it went off at night, I would go out to see what set it off, hoping it was Gypsy.

To make a long story short, on Sept. 18 at 10:15 p.m., the motion detector went off. I grabbed a light and out I went. There sat Gypsy beside it. I came back in, got some tunafish and set it on my ramp. Wasn’t long before Gypsy came to eat it.

It took a little work, but I got Gypsy back in the house about 11 p.m. that night. We were so happy after four months that Gypsy was back home, and so was she. After being long gone for four months, Gypsy was played out and very hungry, but she is going to be fine.

Gypsy sure lived up to her name. Amazing how after such a long time she was able to find her way back home – sure glad she did. We are both very happy to have her back. She is happy to be back.

Anyone out there that has a missing cat, don’t give up hope. Someday they will come home. Just keep looking and calling their name when you are outside.
