To the editor:
I would like to know how much Caribou’s chief of police was paid by Michael Bloomberg’s organization out of Ellsworth, to read a prepared script on Question 3.? The ads featuring Chief Gahagan and others have been airing frequently on television channels 6 and 13 down here.
As an aside, I hope that intelligent folks will get a copy of the proposed law and its ramifications and at least read it before voting away another freedom.
I am greatly concerned that if implemented (after the feel good part goes away) there would be many innocent folks committing misdemeanors and felony’s by unknowing violating the law by handing a firearm to a friend to look at (misdemeanor) and having it handed back (felony). It’s not so much about sales as it is about transfers. Also why should I or any other citizen have to make an appointment with a licensed dealer, pay them for 1/2 hour of their time $30 to lend my buddy a rifle for hunting season and repeat it to get it back?
