FINLAYSON, MN — Harry John Berube, 81, passed away Thursday, August 18, 2016, in Augustana Mercy Health Care Center in Moose Lake, MN.  He was born January 26, 1935, in Limestone, ME, to Thomas and Ida (Fontaine) Berube.  

Harry was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving in both the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War. During this time, Harry earned the Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Longevity Service Award, Korean Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Medal, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Medal, United Nations Service Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal.

Harry was united in marriage to Katsuko “Betty” Tanaka on October 15, 1957, in Tokyo, Japan.  Harry farmed for many years and also worked at Luoma’s Egg Farm in Finlayson.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing and mowing his yard on the riding lawn mower.  Harry was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers and sisters.

Harry is survived by his loving wife, Katsuko “Betty” Berube of Finlayson; son, Greg Berube of Pinon Hills, CA; two grandchildren, Lindsey and Tayler Berube of Pinon Hills, CA; three brothers and one sister.

Services were held on Tues., August 23, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Hamlin-Hansen-Kosloski Funeral Home, Moose Lake, MN, with interment held Wed. August 24, 2016 at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN.  Online condolences at www.hhkfuneralhome.com.
