PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Leaves in the Presque Isle area are now showing vibrant color. Here at a calm Hanson Lake Friday morning, a deep blue sky sets off the brilliant golds, reds and oranges. In its weekly assessment, mainefoliage.com reported the northern half of Maine and the western mountain area at peak color, with moderate to high color in the rest of the state.
