LaFrancois to take helm at PI hospital
BREWER, Maine — Eastern Maine Health Systems president and CEO, M. Michelle Hood, FACHE, announced Friday, Oct. 7, 2016, that Gregory T. LaFrancois, CPA, MHA, FACHE, has been selected as the new president of The Aroostook Medical Center.
He replaces Sylvia Getman, who came to TAMC in August of 2010 and left this summer to become president and CEO of Adirondack Health in upstate New York. Since Getman’s departure, Glenda Dwyer, FACHE, vice president of physician services, has served as interim president.
Gregory T. LaFrancois is expected to begin his duties at TAMC on Nov. 14. In his new role, he will also serve as a senior vice president of EMHS, of which TAMC is the northernmost member.
LaFrancois is currently president and CEO of St. Aloisius Medical Center in Harvey, N.D. He has also served in many other healthcare leadership roles during his more than 28-year career, including CEO at Prairie Saint John’s Hospital in Fargo, N.D.; chief financial officer at Cumberland Hall Hospital in Hopkinsville, Ky.; and chief operating officer and CFO at Blanchfield Army Community Hospital in Ft. Campbell, Ky.
In addition, LaFrancois has an extensive military history serving at Fort Carson and Fitzsimons Medical Center in Colorado; Kimbrough Army Community Hospital in Ft. Meade, Md.; Walter Reed Health Care System in Washington, D.C.; and Office of the Army Surgeon General in Falls Church, Va.
