The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency on Tuesday found alleged methamphetamine manufacturing operations in homes in Fort Fairfield and Troy, bringing the total number of police responses to suspected labs for the year to 107.

Dustin Murphy-Moran, 24, of Fort Fairfield was charged with operating a methamphetamine lab at 567 Route 1A, according to a press release issued by Maine Department of Public Safety Stephen McCausland.

No one has been charged yet in connection with the lab discovered at 408 Ward Road in Troy, but a suspect has been identified, McCausland said.

“Agents found 71 plastic soda bottles inside the home [in Fort Fairfield] that had been used to make the methamphetamine, and it is suspected the man had been making the meth inside the home for some time,” McCausland said.Murphy-Moran is being held at the Aroostook County Jail in Houlton on $10,000 bail.

MDEA agents remained late Tuesday at both sites, McCausland said.
