Investigators review MH house fire
The Maine State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating a fire that destroyed a house in Mars Hill Sunday afternoon.
No one was injured in the blaze, at 13 Silver Street, although the home likely suffered a total loss, said Mars Hill Fire Chief Darrell Wilson.
The cause of the Oct. 9 fire, which was reported at 2:05 p.m., remains undetermined and state fire investigators were set to survey the scene Tuesday, Wilson said.
“The people renting the home were cleaning it up, and were in the cellar, and found the kitchen full of smoke,” Wilson said.
A crew of about 25 from the Mars Hill and Bridgewater fire departments helped extinguish the fire.
