The town of Portage Lake, along with the Portage Lake Tourism Committee, will host a Halloween Pumpkin Party on Saturday, Oct. 22, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. for kids of all ages.

There will be games, prizes, crafts, dancing, a showing of “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” and a spooky haunted house (for those who dare). The Bat Cafe will sell concessions.

Library News

The Ashland Community Library has changed its hours to better accommodate patrons. The library is now open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
Community members of Ashland and the surrounding areas are welcome to visit the library, and also invites community members to drop in to view the collection of historical photos and memorabilia.
There are also current DVDs available for a small refundable deposit.
