Making sense of Question 3

To the editor:

A simple observation from a simple man, about Question 3. Why does this issue have to be so complicated? Quite simply put without any confusion.

If you transfer ownership of a firearm, then it should be documented with a background check. That way the buyer becomes the registered owner, relieving the seller of any future responsibilities pertaining to that firearm.

If you loan a firearm to someone, you should be responsible enough to know the person you loan that firearm to. If you loan a firearm to someone who uses it in a criminal act, you should be held accountable. If the firearm you loaned out is used to commit a murder, you should be charged with murder.

Now isn’t that a whole lot easier to understand than that babble written in Question 3?

It will make no difference what laws are voted in, the people who break the law are careless about the law. Why punish the responsible for the actions of the irresponsible?
