LEGASSIE, Glenn Joseph, 96, Presque Isle, October 17, 2016. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 19, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Presque Isle. Arrangements are under the care of the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home.
PRESQUE ISLE – Our beloved Glenn Joseph Legassie, 96, passed away October 17, 2016. He was born on July 4, 1920, in Sheridan, the son of Stuart and Sophie (Baker) Legassie.
Glenn was a successful business man who had a remarkable talent for starting and managing businesses. During his career, he and his wife, Pauline, ran a hunting camp in Winterville, he owned Glenn’s Cash Market and had a successful second-hand furniture store. Glenn was an active member of his Church and was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus. Glenn and Pauline were devoted to each other, during their 73 years of marriage, and to their family. His children and grandchildren will cherish their many happy memories.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline (Theriault) Legassie; son, Ron Legassie of Presque Isle; daughter, Shirley McCormack of Brunswick; brothers, Stuart Legassie, Jr. and his wife, Marie of South Portland, Milton Legassie and Milford Legassie both of Presque Isle; a sister, JoAnn Saucier and her husband, Jeffrey of Fort Fairfield; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Glenn was predeceased by nine brothers: twins, Harold and Gerald, Richard, Herman, Carlton, Floyd, Donald, Raynold and Rodney; and a sister, Jeanette Costa.
Friends may call 9 to 11 a.m., Wednesday, October 19, 2016, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Parish of the Precious Blood where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. A reception will immediately follow the service at the Knights of Columbus. Interment will follow the reception at St. Mark’s Catholic Cemetery, Sheridan. Donations may be made in Glenn’s memory to Parish of the Precious Blood, Canopy Fund, P.O.
