The Aroostook River Voices, a large choral group based in the Ashland, will be performing their fall concerts on Saturday, October 29, at 2 p.m. in the Ashland Recreation Center and on Sunday, October 30 at 3 p.m. at the Caribou Baptist Church.

The theme of this concert series is “Make a Joyful Noise.” The first concert in Ashland will be for the benefit of the Masardis Pentecostal Church. Since that church is so small, it was decided that the chorus and audience would not fit. Therefore arrangements were made to do this gospel concert at the Ashland Recreation Center which used to be a part of the old Ashland Community Elementary School.
On the next day the Aroostook River Voices will be performing at the Caribou Baptist Church on High Street. The audience can expect to hear many soloists, lots of instrumentalists, and watch the varied interpretations of five different conductors.
Both concerts will feature music from many different eras and styles including traditional hymns. The audience can expect music from classical standards, folk music, southern gospel. The chorus will even perform music with roots in Africa as well as inspirational popular vocals. Donations will be accepted.
