CARIBOU — Pines Health Services recently welcomed Dr. Sadia Munawar to its growing group of hospitalists.
“Teamwork is an essential component of the hospitalist’s role,” said Pines CEO Jim DAvis. “Dr. Sadia Munawar is experienced working in very busy hospital settings with multiple physicians and nurse practitioners. She is a great addition to our expanding hospitalist team.”

Most recently, Munawar served as a hospitalist with Lutheran Hospital, a 396-bed tertiary care facility that provides northern Indiana’s only heart and kidney transplant programs, an accredited bariatric surgery center, Level II adult and pediatric trauma centers, and an accredited community hospital cancer care program.
Prior to her work at Lutheran Hospital, Munawar completed her residency in internal medicine at Jersey Shore University Medical Center from 2012 to early 2105. She received her bachelor of science degree from the University of Toronto with a major focus in neuroscience.
Now that she has joined the staff, there is now a team of seven Pines and Cary providers caring for patients who require hospitalization at Cary Medical Center. The group also includes Dr. Claude Boma, Dr. John Bouchard, Dr. Phillip Din, Dr. Irene Djuanda, Dr. Jeffrey Hoeksma and Family Nurse Practitioner Josee Romann.
In addition to working closely with the highly skilled Cary Medical Center staff, Munawar will consult with referring Pines primary care physicians who see patients in six community health centers from Van Buren to Presque Isle, Washburn to Fort Fairfield.
In her spare time Dr. Munawar enjoys traveling, taking part in various outdoor activities and spending time with her family.
