CARIBOU and PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The United Way of Aroostook and the American Legion Auxiliary are once again teaming up to help keep Aroostook County kids and families cozy and warm this winter by collecting coats and other cold-weather gear.
The annual Coats for Kids and Families drive is now underway, with pick-up scheduled this Friday, Oct. 28, 8 a.m.-4 p.m., and Saturday, Oct. 29, 8 a.m.-2 p.m., at the Caribou American Legion hall.
Organizers suggest the following gently used items: Coats, boots, ski pants, hats, mittens and gloves of all sizes.
Donors may drop items off at: Save-A-Lot in Caribou and Presque Isle; Star City IGA; Mars Hill IGA; Hillside IGA; Ashland Food Mart; Aroostook Centre Mall; The County Federal Credit Union (Presque Isle), Caribou Rec Center, Reno’s Pizza, The Aroostook Medical Center physician office in Caribou; Calvary Baptist Church of Caribou; and Beaulieu’s Garage, also in Caribou.
