Birders plan fall events
PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Aroostook Birders will help bird enthusiasts prepare for colder weather with an instructional session and an excursion before the last migrants leave the area.
The group will present “Winter at the Bird Feeder” Saturday, Oct. 29, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Tractor Supply in Presque Isle.
Feathered friends can use human help as the temperatures drop, and participants can observe birds in their yards if they put out feeders. Aroostook Birders will have a table at Tractor Supply for those interested to stop by and pick up tips for feeding the birds this winter.
On Saturday, Nov. 5, the club will host a jaunt around Long Lake to see the last migrants leaving the state. Everyone will meet at 8 a.m. in Sinclair at the boat launch parking lot by the bridge, and then carpool around the lake, stopping at promising spots.
Participants will stop for lunch at the Lakeview Restaurant.
All are welcome.
