To the editor:
As the November election date gets nearer would like to remind Senate District 2 voters that your Candidate Rick Long has served three very successful terms in the House of Representatives. His goal is to always represent his constituents in Augusta. He is running as a candidate for the Senate to extend that record of service to a larger portion of the State.
Rick Long is a strong supporter of the Constitutions of Maine and the Nation and is true to his oath to uphold both. He makes a strong effort to return contacts from all of those who seek his help regardless of their political party.
Rick Long will continue to carry his message of service to the people in Senate District 2 and has gathered many pledges of support. He does not degrade his fellow legislators or his opponent in this campaign as his opponent and the Democratic Party have done to him. His opponent listed three LDs Rick voted against that supposedly would have benefited the people in his district. Rep. Long studies the bills before the legislature and you can rest assured that there was language in the three bills that would not have done what the titles implied or what the opponent implied. His opponent is a practicing attorney who is an officer of the Court which makes him a member of the Judiciary. As you well know, Maine has three separate departments of government: Executive, Judiciary and Legislative. Help keep them separate and vote to elect Rick Long to the seat in Senate District 2. Remember his opponent. A man cannot serve two masters.
