PRESQUE ISLE, Maine The Wintergreen Arts Center and Machias Savings Bank will once again present “The Polar Express,” a family holiday event, on Friday, Dec. 9, and Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016

With the purchase of a $10 roundtrip golden ticket, each passenger can climb aboard the Presque Isle Historical Society’s Molly the Trolley, who will be magically transformed into The Polar Express. As the conductor punches tickets, riders will enjoy a special holiday trip to the North Pole (Wintergreen), where Santa’s elves will serve hot cocoa and sing songs. Everyone will decorate sugar cookies, visit with Santa and take home a jingle bell souvenir.
All tickets are being sold online this year at www.wintergreenarts.org and at www.eventbrite.com/e/wintergreen-arts-center-polar-express-tickets-28368809874 . Tickets will go on sale beginning Monday, Nov. 7, at 7 p.m.
“This is the fourth annual Polar Express,” said Kim Guerrette Michaud, Wintergreen board co-chair. “We are joined by an entire cast of volunteers and it truly is a labor of love. We are offering 672 tickets for sale this year, and we hope people will find online ticket sales at eventbrite.com easier and more convenient.”
Rides are intended for children ages 10 and under. All children must be accompanied by a ticketed adult. “Trains” will depart every 20 minutes from Gentile Hall at the University of Maine at Presque Isle. Rides will be roundtrip from UMPI to Wintergreen and back.
