CARIBOU, Maine — A longtime holiday favorite, “The Nutcracker,” presented by the Bangor-based Robinson Ballet, will return to the Caribou Performing Arts Center for a 3 p.m. show on Saturday, Nov. 26.
The family-friendly performance is the timeless tale of Christmas dreams come to life with Clara and her beloved toy, the Nutcracker. As the clock strikes midnight, strange things begin to happen, and enchanting fairies, dolls, soldiers, a Snow Queen and of course a Rat King and Uncle Drosselmeyer appear, brought to life by dancers of the Robinson Ballet.
“The Nutcracker is the perfect way to kick off the holiday season,” said CPAC project marketer Richard Ezzy.
Robinson Ballet Artistic Director Stevie Dunham McGary is excited to be bringing the performance back to Caribou for the first time since 2010. “We always receive a very warm and enthusiastic audience in Caribou, and I’m glad we were able to schedule our return. We are looking forward to it.”
General admission tickets for the performance are $15 for adults and $10 for students, and are now on sale in Caribou at Sleeper’s and Shop ’n Save, and in Presque Isle at Bradley’s Citgo and Graves Shop’n Save.
