Local clubs host Kiwanis governor

PRESQUE ISLE — Kiwanis New England District and Bermuda Governor William “Bill” Jenkins and First Lady Jean Jenkins were recently in Presque Isle to visit with Division 1 Kiwanis Clubs, which include Presque Isle, Caribou and Easton.

KIWANIS FESTIVITIES — The Presque Isle Kiwanis Club recently hosted New England District and Bermuda Governor William Jenkins, right, in Presque Isle. The club gathering took place Oct. 15 at the Presque Isle Country Club. The governor, whose term began Oct. 1, inducted officers of each club.
Jenkins also received gifts, including $100 which went to First Lady Jean’s project: the Cape Cod Child Development Services reading program. Several other gifts were presented throughout the banquet event, and those attending enjoyed a friendly putting contest with proceeds going to Jenkins’ project.
Guests included Immediate Past Governor Bart Stevens and Immediate Past First Lady Pat Stevens; Past Lieutenant Governors AJ Cloukey and Craig Green from the Presque Isle Club and Dean Rauch from the Caribou Club; and Caribou Kiwanis President Bill Francis. Also attending was Rotary District Governor Ginny Joles of the Presque Isle Rotary Club.
