TOPS

The Houlton chapter of TOPS met Friday, Oct. 28, with 9 TOPS and 4 KOPS members present for the weekly meeting.

The losers of the week were Jeanne Merritt and Pam Richardson. The runner-up was Bessie Wyman, and Bessie won the incentive basket. Jeanne Merritt won the skinny dish.

Diane Folsom gave the secretary’s report.

The fall contest ended this week and the winners will be announced next week.

The group missed members unable to be with them on Friday, and wish them well so they can return.

The program was given by Pam Richardson. She read from her notes taken at last Saturday’s workshop in Bangor.

There were 114 at the workshop and all enjoyed getting together. They were told, “Attitude is everything,” and “You are free to choose, but you are never free from the consequences.” Pam said she thought these words work in any aspect of life.

Many awards were handed out. Marsha Reed, Bessie Wyman, Diane Folsom and Pam Richardson received recognition for their efforts, but said they couldn’t have done it without the rest of the Houlton chapter, and gave thanks to all.

The group urges anyone needing support and encouragement to join the chapter. Call Pam Richardson for more information at 538-8760.
