EASTON – Rogena Chatfield Thomas, 95, passed away on October 28, 2016, into the arms of her Savior she had faithfully served. A life well lived. She was born in West Windsor, VT on August 27, 1921, to Asa and Marion (Harrington) Chatfield.
Rogena served as a Nazerene Pastor’s wife, and lived throughout New England, PA, and Western Canada. She worked as an insurance underwriter for Worchester Mutual and Maine Mutual Insurance Companies.
Best known as a “helper”, she was much loved and admired wherever she and her husband ministered. After David passed away she spent much of her time nurturing her grandchildren. Mrs. Thomas looked forward to Sunday and going to church. She loved her church and her church family.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Esther and Keith Richardson of Easton; four grandchildren and their spouses, David and Erin Richardson of Essex, MA, Kert and Joanne Richardson of Webster, NY, Kendra and JR Polson of Woburn, MA, and Chad and Claudia Richardson of Fort Fairfield; and eight great-grandchildren.
Rogena was predeceased by her loving husband, Rev. David D. Thomas; her son, David A. Thomas; and her siblings, Benjamin Chatfield, Ethel Boardman, Russell Chatfield, Luther Chatfield, Lucille Osborn, and George Chatfield.
All have fond memories of her to cherish and the hope of seeing her again in a place without these tears we are now shedding.
Friends and family may call on Saturday, Nov. 5, from 2-3 p.m., at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church Street, Presque Isle, where a funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rogena’s memory may be made to the Easton Wesleyan Church Memorial Fund, 210 Center Road, Easton, ME 04740 or to the David and Rogena Thomas Memorial Scholarship Fund (An Endowed Scholarship at ENC), 32 Bangor Road, Easton, ME 04740.
