Man sentenced to four years for drug conspiracy

BANGOR, Maine — A Presque Isle man was sentenced last week for importing bath salts from China with plans of selling the drug in northern Maine.

On Oct. 26 U.S. District Court Judge John Woodcock sentenced Andrew Grivois, 32, to four years in prison and three years of supervised release.
In March, Grivois pleaded guilty to the drug charge and admitted that he and others — who have not been named in court documents — purchased the bath salts from China over the internet with plans to use and sell the drug in Aroostook County.
Grivois, who has been held without bail pending his sentencing, faced up to 20 years in prison. He was originally arrested in 2015 after an investigation by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency with help from the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Department and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service.
