SHERMAN, Maine — A third Massachusetts resident has been charged in connection with what state police described for the first time on Thursday as the drug-related death of an Oakfield man.

Tia Ludwick, 23, of Leominster was arrested in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, on Oct. 26 and charged with being a fugitive from justice. Ludwick will face felony murder and robbery charges when she is returned to Maine, state police said.

Ludwick joins two men who were earlier arrested in connection with the homicide of Douglas Morin, 31, of Oakfield, whose body was found in what state police said Thursday was a car deep in the woods on PD Road on Oct. 16.

Marcus Asante and Darin Goulding are being held in Massachusetts on fugitive from justice charges. Each will face a murder charge upon their return to Maine. Goulding and Assante were arraigned in Leominster District Court on a fugitive from justice charge and ordered held on a $500,000 cash bail or $5 million surety bond, according to the Sentinel and Enterprise of Fitchburg, Massachusetts.

Before Ludwick was to appear for arraignment Thursday, her attorney, Peter Lacy, got permission from Leominster District Court Judge Dennis Sargent that she be allowed to listen to the proceedings without entering the courtroom, according to the Massachusetts newspaper’s account.

Lacy said that Ludwick’s safety may be compromised if a photograph of her, taken during the hearing, was made public. Sargent ordered Ludwick held on a $1 million or a $10 million surety bond.

It is unclear when the three suspects will appear in Maine courts.
