WESTBROOK and CARIBOU — Chadwick-BaRoss Inc., confirmed Oct. 21 it has recently been purchased by ISH Capital, Inc. The heavy equipment dealer has five branches located across New England, including one at 314 Main Street in Caribou.
The company provides parts, service and machine sales and rentals to industry, including forestry, construction, municipal, waste management, utilities and infrastructure.
Other locations are in Bangor and Westbrook, as well as Chelmsford, Mass., and Concord, N.H.
John Thebarge, general manager of both the Caribou and Bangor locations, said Nov. 3 customers will see no impact from the sale of the business.
“None at all. They will see no difference with Chadwick-BaRoss than what they’ve seen in the last 90 years,” he said.
Caribou’s operation has four service people, two parts people and one full-time salesperson who handles both machinery and product sales support, Thebarge said. “They cover all of Aroostook County, the upper part of Penobscot, Piscataquis and Somerset counties.”
Jacob Adams, marketing manager at the company’s Westbrook office, said via email Oct. 31 that neither customers nor employees would be impacted by the sale.
“Specifically, Chadwick-BaRoss will still offer the same equipment and services that customers have come to expect. Our employees will remain at their positions and there will be no visible changes at the branches,” Adams said.
“The only difference we anticipate would be growth, both in what we can offer and in our presence.”
Chadwick BaRoss Inc. President Randy Mace said in an Oct. 21 press release, “We will continue to offer the same products and services that our customers have come to expect from us. We will be looking for ways to expand our footprint by filling the gaps in our current product offerings and ramping up our presence in the market. We are excited about the potential that this partnership provides for the continued growth and success of our operations under our new ownership.”
Mace indicated current plans will see all of the company’s existing locations continue to operate without interruption.
“The new ownership will not create a noticeable change for our customers or employees. We will still be the company that people have grown to know and trust in our industry for over 87 years.”
The sale, by former parent company Strongco, of 100 percent of Chadwick-BaRoss’ shares for the price of $12.4 million was completed on Sept. 30.
The company represents equipment manufacturers such as Volvo Construction Equipment, Ponsse, Link-Belt Excavators, Takeuchi, Holder, Prinoth, Barko, Eltec, Terex Finlay and Terex Fuchs, and attachment manufacturers including Allied, Craig, Wimmer, and Paladin .Chadwick-BaRoss, Inc. has over 100 employees working throughout the New England states.
